The Nike Zoom Bruin debuted in 1972 as a pair of low-top skate shoes and managed to remain at the forefront of Nike’s footwear line-up until today due to its comfort and timeless style. There’s no denying that the GR colourways are stunning but the collaborative versions are definitely grail-worthy. One of the latest pairs we have our eyes on is the Why So Sad? x Nike SB Bruin Mid Brown. Official images of these SB Bruin are now live, so read on for a closer look!
This co-branded Nike shoe extends past than your regular hype-driven collaboration. Made in collaboration with renowned skateboarder and mental health advisor John Rattray, the pair emphasises the question “Why So Sad?” as a way to open up conversation regarding suicide prevention and other mental health issues, including in the skateboarding scene.
The pair arrives with a prominent brown leather-and-suede base contrasted with orange and yellow counterparts, light blue Swoosh logos across the sides, a playful skating chicken graphic on the left heel and a cycling chicken on the right, “Why So Sad?” on the inside tongue labels, and additional graphics on the insoles.
