Union LA X Nike Cortez White Yellow

Union LA and Nike have been on quite the collaborative run for 2022, having dropped a number of takes on some of the Swoosh brand’s most famous silhouettes over the past couple of months. Now, the duo turns their attention to the Cortez, in celebration of both the model and Nike’s 50th anniversaries. Releasing alongside a couple of other collaborative colourways, the Union LA x Nike Cortez “White Yellow” has got to be up there with the best of the bunch, so let’s take a closer look at the sneaker.

Following the same colour blocking pattern and construction as the rest of the pack, the “White Yellow” Union LA Cortez lets its bold colouring and branded detailing take centre stage. Neutral-hued beige suede uppers work in perfect tandem with rugged canvas side panels, which come painted with summer-ready red and purple stripes. For an extra pop of colour, a lemon-yellow Swoosh sweeps across the side of the shoes, with panels of yellow suede also appearing at the eyestays and heel panels. Union branding can be spotted in the form of a yellow tab at the forefoot, and the Union Frontman-branded heel panel lifts to reveal Nike branding underneath. A pair of Crater Foam midsoles sit underfoot, bringing the perfect finishing touch to the utilitarian-style take on the classic silhouette.
