Supreme unveils a Nike silhouette once shrouded in controversy for its Spring/Summer 2023 collection. The Air Bakin was born from the ‘90s era of basketball shoes, only to be quickly recalled and locked away due to kickback surrounding the heel logo. It’s been over two decades since we’ve seen the Bakin hit the streets, let alone the shelves, so now that it’s arriving in a crisp all-white colourway, we’re excited to see what the future holds for the cult classic.
The “White” pair is the most stripped down from the capsule, with the other multi-coloured pair getting a contemporary gradient make-up that you’ll be sure to clock when out and about this summer. The Air Bakin’s OG colourway pokes out its head with the set of yellow laces on the “White” edition, a key detail in creating the distinct look of the original in ‘97. On the rear pull tab, you will find a black Supreme spellout, along with a co-branded red insole that is a staple among all Nike x Supreme collaborations. On the heel, an “NYC” is embroidered on in a flame-like fashion that mimics the design language of the original, while referencing the origins of the skate brand.
Are you keen on the collaboration? If so, which pair are you considering picking up? There is still no official release date on the Supreme x Nike Air Bakin “White”, so keep it locked to The Sole Supplier for further updates!
