Since arriving on the footwear scene with the Versace Chainlink 2, Salehe Bembury has been on a hugely successful spree of collaborations. Regardless of the brand, the American-born designer finds a way to establish his unique storytelling onto the chosen silhouette, unafraid of the challenge ahead. Bembury now combines forces with Clarks Originals, breathing life into Lugger with this three-part capsule. Once again, nature seems to be the point of inspiration, imbuing them with earthy tones that play into the silhouette’s nomadic feel.
The “Dark Green” pair is particularly typical of Bembury’s choice of palette, selecting an assortment of green suedes to construct the upper with. A splash pattern decorates the toe, looking to the various camouflages within the animal kingdom for inspiration, such as the poisonous frog. The asymmetrical laces are extended on this collaborative pair, opting for a matching flat lace instead of the silhouette’s usual leather set. Around the ankle collar, an additional camo print breaks up the suede upper in its abstract form, introducing nature’s unconventional lines to enhance the motif found on the Lugger. The only form of co-branding is located on the cork insole, an acknowledgement of Clark’s minimal branding.
This is another unconventional creation from Salehe Bembury, taking the traditional form of the Clarks Original Lugger Cupsole and making it his own. Find out more information on where to pick up this “Dark Green” pair by keeping it locked into The Sole Supplier!
