The sock shoe was a trend that dominated the sneakerhead community from 2015 to 2017, seeing its peak through moments such as the Pharrell NMD Hu collaboration with Chanel and Balenciaga’s take with its Speed Trainers. Keeping the sock shoe trend alive in 2022, Pharrell’s NMD Human Race is set for another instalment of the Animal Print pack, this time in a grey tonal colourway.
This pair is constructed using adidas’ signature Primeknit upper which features an all-over embroidered animal print. Unlike the previous orange and blue pair which focused on loud colours, this silvery grey approach lets the details do the talking. Rope laces, premium lace tips and the NMD Hu’s heel cage are all in check, allowing for extra customisation through whichever unique lacing system you decide on. A Boost midsole guarantees all-day comfort which people have grown to love ever since the Ultra Boost 1.0 gave the technology the credit it deserved. Light grey tubing lines the collar ensuring you don’t become lost by the one-piece upper.
It’s been over 8 years since Pharrell announced his partnership with adidas and it doesn’t look like the collaborations are going to slow down anytime soon. If you haven’t got a pair of Pharrel-designed kicks or are missing the simple Sock shoe days then why not try picking up this pair of NMD Hu’s.
These are set to release this month so stay tuned to The Sole Supplier information on where to grab a pair!
