On its 40th birthday, the silhouette celebrates the man who put the Air in Nike Air. Introducing the Nike Air Max 90 Marion Frank Rudy.

This sleek and simple Air Max 90 pays tribute to aerospace engineer and inventor of the Air unit by putting his name, M. Frank Rudy, on the lace tips, his signature on the blueprint-inspired insole and a typed-up “Est. 1990” print on the transparent casing of the Air units on the midsole. The rest of the upper is a medley of mesh, smooth leather and suede in different variations of white. Other interesting details are the gold Nike Air branding on the tongue tab and a California license-plate-inspired hangtag in royal blue and bright yellow. A white midsole and a yellowed-out gum outsole complete the style of these kicks.
