Jordan Brand has started to roll out the Air Jordan 2 for what is set to be a big year for the silhouette. A number of collaborations with brands like Maison Chateau Rouge and artists like J Balvin have led the underappreciated Jordan 2 silhouette to become a talking point amongst many sneakerheads. Although, this was a minor conversation until Virgil amplified it with his Off-White x Air Jordan 2 Low “White Red” drop. Drawing inspiration from the famous Michael Jordan Jumpman photo is the Air Jordan 2 Low in this “Now Look Up in the Air” colourway.
It isn’t the first time that the Jumpman has sought inspiration from the Chicago sunset, the Air Jordan 1 “Skyline” doing so in a more blatant fashion and also set for a 2023 release. This time, the pink and purple gradient that was so prominent in the photo is only subtly referenced on the upper via the panel and tongue piping. The main leather construction that the silhouette is renowned for remains present on the front portion of the shoe, along with the perforations that follow the panel stitching round. Both the midsole, heel support and eyestays have been given an aged cream finish, while a baby blue lines the inside giving the shoe a contemporary feel. From what we can tell so far, the shoe seems to be a fun addition to the AJ2 roster, so let’s hope we get more photos soon.
It’s looking like these won’t be dropping till 2023 but make sure you stick around The Sole Supplier for more information regarding this release as and when we get further photo updates.
