It’s been five years since we last saw the Nike Air Humara in its OG tooling. Back in 2018, the Gorpcore trend was in its infancy, yet the silhouette managed to capture the attention of a small percentage of sneakerheads who were eager for ACG-esque footwear in their lives. A Jacquemus collaboration on the Air Humara in ‘22 revealed the want for the trail runner was still alive, so you can imagine the news of the “Green Maroon” and this “Midnight Navy” colourway was a happy surprise.
Leaping out is the fabric-covered midsole with its checkerboard finish, an Air Unit placed under both the forefoot and heel for comfort. A mix of navy, grey and yellow has this edition looking super retro, a nod to all the race car-inspired colourways that Peter Fogg had imbued his creations with. The lacing takes its inspiration from the Air Max 95, with its eyestay straps lock-stitched onto the upper that ensures these will maintain their workhorse quality for years to come. You can find the lock-stitch features on contemporary releases like the Tom Sachs General Purpose Shoe, a detail used by the Swoosh to increase its product’s lifespan. Another similarity between the two would be the addition of the rear and front pull tab, allowing for easy slip-on access before clambering up the trails.
The Nike Air Humara is set to drop on the 28th of February, so why not channel some OG trail running vibes with this “Midnight Navy” edition? Keep it locked to The Sole Supplier for more information and updates on the drop!
