When legendary Air Max designer Tinker Hatfield introduced a new silhouette in 1991 dubbed the Air Huarache, the sneaker community went nuts. A new footwear model that featured a sock-like fit, it was only natural that people would choose a pair of trainers that is extremely reliable when it comes to comfort. That’s how it was for the sneaker fanatics in London, avid shoe collectors were eager to get their hands on a pair of black Air Huaraches. And when the Swoosh team revived them back from the archives in 2021, numerous colourways have started to roll out, the noteworthy pair being the Nike Air Huarache Hyperlocal London Triple Black.
The pair still maintains all the classic features Hatfield put in place, a neoprene crafted base wrapped in exoskeleton panelling and a rubber heel strap, there are no reasons why you should pass on these. The shoe is dipped in a stark black hue all over including the highly sculpted midsole, complete with a Nike Air label on the tongue rather than the classic circular Air Huarache emblem.
