Originally released in 1994, Mizuno’s Sky Medal was created for entry-level runners who were after a pair of well-cushioned shoes suitable for both on and off the road. Now the archive silhouette has been dressed up in a range of tones and quality suede, ready for its spot on the upcoming Premium Pack from the Japanese footwear legends.
Formed of a mixture of greys, violets and light blues, the upper tastefully details its layering system that fits perfectly within the vintage runner category that has currently blown up. This gentle approach is extended onto the shoe’s branding, the Runbird logo adopting a soft cream suede that complements the midsole, forgoing the usual ‘flaming shades’ that were commonly used on original releases. The cream laces are also a welcomed addition that taps into the heritage behind the silhouette. Underneath, blue hues are draped all over the tread pattern, tying into the melange of soft tonal colours above.
Delve into a different section of footwear history in style with this Sky Medal Premium Pack “Greystone” from Mizuno.
