The success continues into the New Year with another inspired take on a classic Reebok silhouette. Lamar imparts some unique styling against a vintage tennis shoe, drawing upon his experiences from the old school to modern day.
As with previous styles, Lamar opts for an abstract theme that puts emphasis on unity. While others showcased both colours of LA gans, the Bloods and the Crips, this silhouette stays more neutral but manages to stand out.
Acid-washed denim is utilised across the upper, not a feature that’s often seen on a sneaker. The black and white colourway not only looks great but delivers a meaningful message, one which symbolises equality in society – all races coming together from different ethnic backgrounds and ages.
This is more an expression of art than a standard sneaker collaboration. Lamar uses the platform to express a meaningful theme. It’s finished with subtle hits of red – a colour to represent strength and passion – which is highlighted to the ‘K’ and ‘O’ of Reebok’s branding. It’s a subtle nod to Kendrick’s signature, KDot.
The Kendrick Lamar x Reebok Club C is scheduled to release on 13th January at 9am across UK and European retailers.
