Adidas Crazy 1 Lakers Away

Returning in 2022 was one of adidas’ most controversial silhouettes, the Crazy 1. Since dropping in the “Stormtrooper” colourway back in the summer of ‘22, the silhouette has enjoyed some peak sell-out moments as Kobe fans try and recapture that Black Mamba energy. Adding to the current retro line-up this year is the “Lakers Away” edition, which because of its darker colour palette, isn’t expected to stick around for long. If you need to feel like you’re up against Reggie Miller’s Indiana Pacers in Game 6 to get you through your day, then having these on your feet will do just that.

Inspired by the Audi TT, Kobe’s favourite car at the time, the early 2000s basketball shoe arrives with a very distinct aesthetic. The side of the shoe is built from sculpted panels, which not only provide solid stability but mould to your feet over time, making your pair more personal to you. Nodding to the sports car-themed design as well as the iconic adidas Shelltoe, the front grill is here draped in a Lakers yellow. Underfoot, the shade of purple forms the other half of the Los Angeles-based dynasty’s colourway, swallowing up the zig-zagged traction to match the overall dark tones above. Created for lockdown, the high ankle collar entrance boasts extra padding, making sure you’re cushioned during the day and when you’re trying to hit a pull-up jump shot.
